about this page
This image set was produced using a beta Photoshop plug-in rather than the Deep Zoom Composer. We had problems with Deep Zoom refusing to compile large tiffs, and the good folk at Microsoft Research directed to their Photoshop HD View Export plug-in, which has worked perfectly so far. They also steered us to their recently released HD View Silverlight source code. We based our Silverlight viewer that displays this image on their C# code with a few tweaks for our specific needs.
Click the image below for the HD View page (requires Silverlight). It is a 22000 x 5600 pixel tiff file, processed by the HD View plug-in of the bay side of San Francisco's Ferry Building shot from a pier on 10/24/08. The stitched tiff was made from 16 photos shot with a Canon 5D and an 85mm f/1.8 Canon lens.
Use your mouse wheel or the provided buttons to zoom in and out on the HD View image. the buttons will disappear to allow an unobstructed, black-background view of the image, but they'll reappear if you move the cursor over them. Depending on your internet connection, it may take a while for the image to become clear after panning or zooming.
